HISTORY:
Spectrum Advisory Services
Inc. became the investment advisor for Marathon Value Portfolio (MVP) on
March 28, 2000, at an initial net asset value (NAV) of $9.32. Since that time MVP has been managed as a no-load,
general equity fund with an investment strategy centered on
fundamental value investing, under the portfolio management
of Marc S. Heilweil, president of Spectrum Advisory.
Spectrum Advisory Services Inc. is the successor company to
an investment counseling firm originally founded by its
president, Marc Heilweil, in 1977. Mr. Heilweil began his
career working in the securities law field for two large law
firms in Atlanta before shifting full time into investment
management. Over the years, Mr. Heilweil’s investment
discipline has produced consistent, positive returns across
market cycles in a relatively conservative and tax-efficient
manner. In evaluating companies to own, Mr. Heilweil looks
for well-managed companies with good businesses and
attractive valuations. In addition to serving as advisor for
MVP, Spectrum also manages over $350 million in taxable,
retirement and charitable accounts for high net worth
individuals and institutions.
